DHA Lahore needed a unified outdoor digital signage network for civic messaging, traffic and community announcements, and a structured outdoor-advertising inventory across its phases. SMDSOLUTIONS delivered 800+ SMD pole streamer screens mounted on existing streetlight poles, all driven from a centralised content-management platform with role-based publishing for the civic team and the advertising-rights operator.
What the client needed.
- Network scale: 800+ screens across multiple phases is a single-project record for Pakistani SMD deployment. Logistics, power, and content management all had to work at that scale, not just on a pilot.
- Mounting: SMD pole streamers had to bolt to existing streetlight poles without compromising structural integrity. Standard outdoor cabinets are too heavy and wind-loaded for retrofit pole mounts.
- Power: streetlight circuits are night-only. SMD streamers needed independent 24/7 power feeds and surge protection across hundreds of pole locations.
- Content workflow: a single content team had to manage civic announcements, scheduled advertising, and emergency-broadcast overrides across 800+ screens — without phase-by-phase manual updates.

- Pole streamers are designed for streetlight-pole mounting — slim, low wind-load, low weight. Conventional outdoor billboard cabinets are too heavy and create too much wind-load for retrofit pole installation; they would compromise the pole structure and require pole replacement. Pole streamer form factor was the only viable solution for 800+ retrofit pole mounts.
