Digital Signage — LED screens that earn their keep every hour they are on.
LED standees, menu boards, mall directories, hospital signage, airport-style information boards, and corporate announcement networks. SMDSOLUTIONS supplies the hardware, manages the install, and configures the content workflow across Pakistan.
Digital signage refers to LED display systems used for indoor and semi-outdoor information, advertising, and wayfinding — typically standees, menu boards, mall directories, hospital signage, and corporate announcement networks. Pixel pitches of P1.8 to P4 cover most signage applications, with brightness in the 600–1,500 nit range. SMDSOLUTIONS supplies signage hardware, installs it, integrates content-management software, and trains operating teams across Pakistan.
Built for purpose, not retro-fitted.
Digital signage uses LED screens to deliver information, advertising, or wayfinding content in commercial and public spaces. The hardware overlaps with general indoor SMD screens, but the operational model is different — signage runs scheduled content (sometimes 18 hours a day, every day) and is judged on uptime, content workflow, and operating cost as much as image quality.
A complete signage deployment combines four parts: the LED hardware (standee, menu board, or wall), the mounting structure, the media player or content controller, and the content-management software (CMS) that schedules and deploys content. We deliver all four as a single scope.
Most modern signage runs on cloud-based CMS platforms (BrightSign, Yodeck, ScreenCloud, Samsung MagicINFO) which allow centralised content scheduling, multi-screen control, proof-of-play reporting, and remote brightness management. We commission the platform during install and train your operating team.
The right buyer profile.
Digital signage makes sense for retailers running rotating in-store campaigns, restaurant chains running menu boards, shopping malls running tenant directories, hospitals running wayfinding and announcements, corporate offices running internal communications, and airport/transit operators running passenger information.
It is not always the right answer. Single static signs (a single store, a single message) are cheaper to print. Digital signage earns its premium when content rotates frequently, when multiple screens need synchronised content, or when content production already has a media-creation workflow that benefits from one more output channel.
Where digital signage earn their place.
Retail signage & standees
In-store LED standees, end-cap displays, and shop-window signage with rotating campaign content.
Restaurant menu boards
Quick-service and full-service menu boards with day-part scheduling, price changes, and promotional content.
Mall directories & wayfinding
Tenant directories, floor plans, mall promotions, and seasonal-campaign signage.
Hospital information & wayfinding
Department directories, queue management, public announcements, and patient-information signage.
Corporate announcement networks
Internal-communication screens in lobbies, lifts, cafeterias, and break rooms.
Educational notice boards
School and university notice boards, event signage, and emergency-broadcast capability.
Airport & transport information
Passenger information, boarding details, transit timetables, and public announcements.
Banking & queue management
Branch information, queue-number displays, product promotions, and rate-board automation.
Pitches that actually fit this use case.
Pixel pitch is the single biggest spec decision. We recommend the pitches below for typical digital signage deployments. Talk to us before locking it in — closest viewing distance is the deciding factor.

Why this option earns its place.
Replaces printed media — content updates in seconds, not days, with no per-piece production cost.
Multi-location synchronisation — single CMS controls 1 or 1,000 screens.
Day-part scheduling — different content morning, lunch, evening, and night automatically.
Proof-of-play reporting supports advertising-led signage networks.
Lower long-term running cost than rotating print signage at any meaningful scale.
Brand consistency — central content workflow ensures every location runs approved content.
Plan ahead.
Sun exposure on shop windows. Direct south-facing storefront standees need 1,500–2,500 nit screens. Standard signage (600–800 nit) washes out in direct sun.
Connectivity. Reliable internet is essential for cloud-CMS deployments. We design fallback (cached content, 4G modem) for locations with unreliable broadband.
Power and cabling. Standees need clean power and discreet cable routing. Plan during shop-fit, not after — retrofitting is messy.
Operating hours. Signage running 18 hours a day, every day, ages faster than meeting-room LED. Specify accordingly and build maintenance into the operating budget.
What changes the price — honestly.
We don't publish flat per-square-foot prices because they mislead. These are the variables that move the bill of materials.
Form factor
Standees are commodity priced. Custom-shape signage (curved, oversized, or architectural) costs significantly more.
Pixel pitch
Higher pitch (P3, P4) for large signage viewed from distance. Finer pitch (P1.8) for close-up retail.
Brightness specification
High-brightness sun-readable signage costs more than standard indoor signage. Specify based on actual environment.
CMS subscription
Cloud CMS platforms have per-screen monthly fees. Multi-year contracts reduce per-unit cost; one-off small-network deployments cost more per screen.
Network of screens
Per-unit cost falls as deployment size grows — single units carry full setup overhead.
Content production
CMS provides the platform; content production is a separate creative line item or in-house responsibility.

Keep it running for ten years.
LED systems are reliable when designed for the duty cycle and supported with a real maintenance plan. Skipping maintenance is the fastest route to dead pixels and warranty disputes.
- Quarterly visual inspection — alignment, brightness uniformity, and dust.
- Annual deep clean — screens and cabinet vents in dusty environments.
- CMS account hygiene — user role audits and content-folder cleanup quarterly.
- Content scheduling review — ensure expired campaigns are removed, no stale content runs.
- Network monitoring — monitor cellular / Wi-Fi connectivity for signage in unreliable locations.
- Annual brightness recalibration on shop-front standees — direct-sunlight signage degrades faster than indoor.
Direct answers from the SMDSOLUTIONS engineering team.
- We support all major cloud CMS platforms — BrightSign, Yodeck, ScreenCloud, Samsung MagicINFO, NoviSign, Xibo, and others — and recommend the right one based on your screen count, content workflow, and budget. We also support on-premises CMS for clients with strict data-residency requirements.
