Front-of-reception LED feature wall for a Lahore-based listed group. Specified at P1.8 to keep typography crisp from the welcome desk, calibrated for the lobby’s mixed daylight and downlight, and integrated with the HQ’s town-hall livestream feed.

A listed Pakistani corporate group rebuilt its head-office reception and wanted a feature wall that could handle three distinct content modes — quiet brand loops during normal hours, town-hall livestreams during all-hands events, and broadcast playback for board visits — without ever looking under-driven. SMDSOLUTIONS specified, supplied, and installed a P1.8 indoor SMD wall with a redundant processor path and a managed content schedule.
What the client needed.
- Visitors approach within 1.5–3 m of the wall from the welcome desk; a coarser pitch would have shown visible pixels in body copy.
- Mixed lighting — north-facing windows plus dimmable downlights — meant uniform brightness perception across daylight and evening.
- The lobby is a working space; the wall could not whine, hum, or radiate heat into the reception zone.
- Town-hall events needed a redundant signal path; a frozen wall during a CEO address was unacceptable.
What we delivered.
- P1.8 indoor SMD wall, 4 m × 2.25 m, ≈ 9 sqm with bezel-free seam alignment and full HD-plus native resolution.
- Dual-input Novastar VX600 processor with hot-swap fail-over from the primary content server to a backup feed.
- Slim 60 mm front-maintenance cabinets — fits the architectural depth of the lobby alcove without any structural drop.
- Calibrated brightness curve linked to a daylight sensor — wall auto-trims output across morning, midday, and evening.
- Silent active-cooling cabinet variant with passive convection only, kept thermal output under the reception HVAC headroom.

Brief & reference visit
In-person walk-through plus a same-pitch reference visit so stakeholders saw P1.8 vs P2.5 before locking the spec.
Engineering & coordination
Coordinated with the architect, electrical contractor, and HVAC consultant for power, structure, and thermal sign-off.
Supply & staging
12 cabinets, processor, and redundant network feed pre-tested at our facility.
Install & calibration
3-day install during the building’s pre-occupancy window, with a 4th day reserved for calibration and content workflow.
Training & hand-over
Reception, IT, and AV teams trained; backup-feed test included as part of formal hand-over.
What changed after go-live.

Town-hall livestream ran without dropout over four sessions in the first 12 months.

The fail-over saved us during a town hall — the primary feed dropped, the wall stayed live, and most of the room never noticed.
